What a café job ad in Germany needs
- (m/w/d) and neutral wording. The General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) forbids discrimination by gender, age or origin. Phrases like “young team” or “native German speaker” can lead to compensation claims.
- Minimum wage. From 1 January 2027 it is €14.60 an hour, also for assistants and Minijobs.
- Minijob limit. In 2027 it is €633 a month, calculated as hours per week × hourly wage × 13/3.
- Concrete, not clichés. Hours, shifts, wage and tips tell applicants more than “flat hierarchies”.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the tool refuse my hourly wage?
Because it is below €14.60, the minimum wage from 1 January 2027. An ad with a lower wage would not be lawful for a job from 2027.
How many hours fit into a Minijob?
At the €14.60 minimum wage, at most 10 hours a week: 10 × €14.60 × 13/3 = €632.67. The minimum wage calculator shows what that costs your whole team.
