How the voucher system works
JustBack sells credit for exactly one café: yours. Guests buy it online, it is valid only at your café, and your team redeems it at the counter with a quick scan.

Payment runs through Stripe. Up to €200 per payment.
Redeem at the counter
Your team scans the guest’s code on a phone or tablet and enters the amount. The remaining balance stays.
Payout
Money reaches your bank account via Stripe Connect, on Stripe’s payout schedule.
What a voucher system does for your café
- Money before the next visit. Guests prepay for future visits. You still need to serve those orders and cover their costs.
- A reason to come back. A guest with a balance at your café has a reason to choose you again, not the place next door.
- New guests through gifts. Regulars send a voucher for your café by SMS. The friend gets a reason for a first visit.
- No extra device. Your team only needs a phone or tablet. JustBack does not require a payment terminal.

JustBack runs independently of your till, for example next to orderbird or SumUp. Ask your tax adviser how to book sales and redemptions.
Vouchers and VAT in Germany
For qualifying multi-purpose vouchers in Germany, VAT applies when goods or services are supplied on redemption. Single-purpose vouchers are generally taxed on transfer instead. This may affect timing, rather than reduce the tax itself. Ask your tax adviser to confirm your voucher’s classification and accounting treatment (§ 3 (14–15) UStG).
Frequently asked questions
Do my guests need to install an app?
No. Every guest gets a personal code and can use JustBack in the browser. Adding it to the home screen is optional.
Can guests use part of a voucher?
Yes. Your team enters the amount to redeem, and the remaining balance stays available for a future visit to your café.
Is the credit valid at other cafés?
No. Credit and vouchers are valid at the café they were bought for.
When do I get the money?
Guests pay online through Stripe. Payouts reach your bank via Stripe Connect on Stripe’s schedule; funds are not instantly available at purchase.
Do I need extra hardware?
Your team can scan the guest’s QR with a phone or tablet. JustBack does not require an additional payment terminal.
